MILEAGE ADJUSTMENT

Decrease your mileage if you are driving less than what is listed on your declaration page. Keep it slightly above your actual mileage for a cushion. Example: if you drove 4,000 miles, list 4,000–6,000 miles/year rather than 8,000–10,000.

DRIVING HISTORY

If you have any at-fault accidents, claims, or damages, verify accuracy by requesting a driving record and dispute any inaccuracies.

If you have any inaccurate tickets or violations, verify by requesting a driving record and dispute any inaccuracies.

ADDITIONAL HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS

Spouses can sometimes be excluded if they are not driving your vehicle and you live in separate households, especially if legally separated or divorced. Some insurers may also add discounts for this. Check with your insurance company.

Teenagers may increase your rate once they receive a driver's license. See if they can be removed or excluded, especially if they are not driving your vehicles or have their own insurance.

Roommates, friends, or family members not in the same household who do not drive your vehicles and have their own insurance may be removable or excludable.
